The woods can be bleak and daunting on a day without much sunshine. Maybe dull weather is why we took no pictures of eagles. In fact, the only birds we heard were crows. The day would have been a total bust if not for sharing a visit to the nest with real birders, one of whom brought a scope. Our companions have been long time members of the Baltimore Bird Club, not newbies as are Ted and I. They were enthusiastic about seeing the nest attended by one eagle parent and agreed that protecting the birds’ privacy is important.
