We vowed visiting the nest would be our mission for the next few days not knowing for sure whether or not the mother eagle was who was sitting on the nest or if the father was the one who swooped above and then perched upon limbs of different trees in direct view of the nest.  We do know that an eagle usually lays two eggs, that the female is larger than the male, and an adult eagle can have a wing span of 6 to 8 feet. We’ve observed the eagles calling back and forth to one another and noticed the male invariably circles above us when in the area as if seeming to let us know that he knows where we are (and we better steer clear of his family).off nest
